New York: Farrar & Rinehart. Cloth - Hard Cover. Good/No Dust Jacket. 409 pages, plus plates. Inscribed and signed by the author on the half title page, dated July, 1938, Emporia, Kansas. Newspaper/magazine clipping of a photograph of the author's cluttered desk is affixed to the blank verso of the front free end leaf. Covers are a little faded along the edges and show a few smudges. End leaves are a little darkened. Volume remains tight and is otherwise clean.

Spotting on all endpapers, stain on front and bottom of text block, previous owner signature under front flap of dust jacket. Boards are straight, spine is firm and tips only slightly pushed if at ll. Slightly musty. Dust jacket has price of $3.00 unclipped with 2" by 5" loss at bottom of front cover and spine. Wear and loss along most edges and bottom bt overall still fairly sound. Looks handsome in shiny new mylar cover. .
