The text is illustrated with white reproductions of Leonardo da Vinci's artwork (both full paintings and sketches), maps and between pages 86 and 87 there are eight pages of Leonardo da Vinci's sketches of the Arno River and his ideas for the canals. 1/4 red coloured cloth covered backstrip with gilt coloured titles. 3/4 dusty pink coloured boards. Illustrated dustwrapper with dark red and black coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Black and white photograph of author to the rear fold over panel.
