Scarce in the trade in this state and condition, being a good-looking, structurally sound exemplar of the Deluxe First Edition (publisher's brochure laid in), and complete with Susie Boice Trego's "Ferry Butte" appended to the main text, which is introduced by Brown. SIGNED by the author at Page of Limitation, though not numbered. Sturdy, attractive, tightly bound, internally clean hardcover copy, with unbruised tips, but off-setting from interior dust jacket flaps at illustrated endpapers; not ex-library, with neither highlighting nor underlining. Bound in blue cloth, slight forward cock to spine, top edge gilt. Pictorial dust jacket, illustrated, showing minor wear including a small chip at spine head near front panel, sunned along edges, else protected by a plastic coat, not price-clipped. Accessible, well-researched social history of Fort Hall, early explorers and settlers and Native Americans, fur traders and mountain men, Oregon Trail migrants, and the stagecoach and freighting era to the 1860s. Frontis portrait in black-and-white of Nathaniel J. Wyeth, well over 60 black-and-white illustrations and photographs. Prelims + 8-466 pp. Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.
