The binding is bumped & lightly rubbed & the head of the spine is chipped. xii pages & pages [13]-391 plus [34]-page publisher's catalog. Illustrated with a frontispiece with a tissue guard & an extra pictorial title in black & white. There is scattered foxing, including to the frontispiece, tissue guard & pictorial title. Good. <p>First edition.<p>From the library of Civil War veteran Louis Livingston with his faded signature on the front endpaper. Livingston, a member of the notable Dutchess County, New York family, was a Captain and later Aide de Camp in the 1st Brigade, 1st Division of the XII Corps. He served under General Samuel Crawford and was breveted to Major for his service at Antietam and to Lieutenant Colonel for "conspicuous gallantry" at Gettysburg.
