Description:
Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1897. Book. Good. Hardcover. First Edition. 8vo. pp cxcix, 644 [8] , complete with colour folded map of Berkshire held within a pocket at the rear of the book. Blue cloth binding good with some general wear and rubbing to edges and corners, gilt titling to spine, contents clean but for a few newspaper cuttings pasted to the front pastedown and llibrary stamps. The previous owner's name C. E. Salmon Xmas 1897 is inked to the front free pastedown along with a few ticks to the margin of the corrections page. C. E.Salmon was the author of the first edition of Flora of Surrey. There is also a letter included regarding the finding of Herminium Monorchis, Musk Orchid by A. B. Jackson. (Jackson was responsible for the revison to Wayside and Woodland Blossoms..
