The text is illustrated with contemporary black-and-white photographs, and reproductions of art work. Green coloured boards with gilt writing on the spine. Bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine and to the top book corners. discolouration to the top book edge and shelfwear to the lower. A few marks to the book panels. Browning and foxing to the top paper edge and occasional foxing to the other paper edges. Illustrated dustwrapper ( wraparound ), being a reproduction of W.H.D. Koerner's Painting "Tail Herd across Wyoming". Brown writing on the front panel and spine. Fading of the spine due to sun. A few creases to the top dust wrapper edge. A history of the American Cowboy, from his inception through to the early 20th century. Also touches upon the most famous of the Cowboys -- Charles Goodnight, Tom Mix, Buffalo Bill etc. This is the first UK edition. Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall.
