A lovely first edition of Shiva Naipaul's sprawling novel about the Khoja family in Trinidad, in the original price-clipped dustwrapper. The first edition of this work In the original price-clipped dustwrapper. 'Fireflies' follows the Khoja family, one of Trinidad's most important Indian families. Written by Shiva Naipaul, a Trinidadian and British novelist, best known for his works 'North of South', and 'The Chip-Chip Gatherers'. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front endpaper, 'To dearest P, with all love from M. January 1972'. In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original price-clipped dustwrapper. Externally, fine. Dustwrapper with a light amount of edgewear, with a couple of very small closed teas, and just a couple of very light spots, mostly to the reverse. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Fine
