New York: The Viking Press, 1939. First American edition. Hardcover. Very good. 628pp. Large octavo [24.5 cm] Black cloth covered boards with gilt stamped titles on the spine and front cover. Publisher's blue topstain. The text block is just only starting to crack at the half title page, but remains very sturdy and strong. Gilt lettering bright. Finnegans Wake, a novel which blends the reality of life with with a dream world, is viewed as a monumental work known for its experimental style and is considered one of the most difficult works of fiction in the English language.

Synopsis
Finnegans Wake is a work of comic fiction by Irish author James Joyce, significant for an experimental style and its resulting reputation as one of the most difficult works of fiction in the English language. Written in Paris over a period of 17 years, and published in 1939, two years before the author's death, Finnegans Wake was Joyce's final work. -
