Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some light marking and sunning. Unclipped jacket has light edge-wear with minor tears and chipping. Mild rubbing and marking.

Pages are lightly tanned and thumbed at the edges, with creased corners and foxing. Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn with slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped and spine ends are a mildly crushed. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Water marks to boards and spine.

Binding remains firm.Pages are moderately tanned. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and noticeable rubbing to surfaces.Strong tanning to spine and edges. Mild crushing to spine ends causing cloth to fray.

Cracks to guttering throughout, with exposed netting. Some rub-marking and tanning to pastedowns and endpapers with stamp to front. Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some light marking and sunning. Boards are slightly bowed.

Light tanning to pages with moderate cracking to gutters exposing netting; pages remain attached. Boards have minor corner bumping, denting and edgewear with mild sunning and scuffing overall. Spine has light mottling and tanning with soft crushing to ends. Book has a slight forward lean.

In good plus red cloth boards, with image of two boys carrying another boy to front with boy catching ball to back strip. The covers are clean and quite tight; spine ends bumped. 'The Clevedon Community Bookshop Co-operative Bindery Team have made some repairs to top of spine and infilled. Lightly tanned free end papers; the front free end papers have a prize plate, dated 1921. Slightly tanned and marked cut edges. The text block is in very good condition - tightly bound, straight and with a few marks but not tanned or foxed. With 6 b/w illustrations (including frontispiece) by T. M. R. Whitwell.. No jacket.

Pencil inscription to front pastedown. Boards have light edgewear with corner crushing and notable marking to boards. Mild tanning to spine, which has mild crushing to ends. Books has a backward lean. Notable creasing to tail of spine.
