Dublin / Cork: Talbot Press, 1929. First English Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. 12mo 7" - 7. Sturdy, attractive, tightly bound, internally clean hardcover copy, with unbruised tips, neat and tidy paste-downs; not ex-library, with neither highlighting nor underlining. Bound handsomely in light blue heavy linen cloth, sunning to edges and spine, simple, printed paper labels to cover and spine, being abraded there a bit, and with some foxing to covers, half-toning to two endpapers, but remarkably bright of interior, featuring deckle-cut fore-edges and a raft of 13 lovely black-and-white wood-cut illustrations but that are unattributed. Short poetic homage to O Conaire following copyright page by F.R. Higgins. [4], 5-95 pp. Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.

Dublin: The Talbot Press, 1930. 95pp., b/white halftone plate author portrait frontispiece, plus engravings throughout by Micheal Mac Liammoir. Book clean and square. Original green cloth noticeably faded on spine and edges. Untrimmed text-block foredge and foot. Laid-on title labels on front board and spine (front soiled but complete. Spine label nipped and abraded). Cloth frayed at head of spine, else mildly bumped. These writings of Irish author Padraic O Conaire are his observations from his travel in Ireland c. World War One, accompanied only by his spirited little black ass . . . Contents include: Prelims., Author Tributes (F.R.Higgins), chapters. Born in March, 1881 at Galway, Padraic O Conaire died 6 October, 1928 in Dublin. Book weight approx. 290g. Postage charge will be reduced as this item will post under 500g. packed weight.
