Dark green cloth attractively lettered and decorated in gilt, black and blind, with bevelled edges; all edges gilt; cloth slightly rubbed and marked; contemporary ownership details on the front free endpaper; minor pencilling to the recto of the rear free endpaper; an excellent copy.

(2, notices of two gardening books)+f/piece+vi+148+(36 pp. pub.catalogues & notices) 8 col.plates ex-pag. as called for, 40 'wood engravings', some full page, all edges gilt; clean and unmarked but gutters between some gatherings incipiently opening, one detached plate now refixed with transparent tear-repair tape. attractive bevelled edge covers marred by a small cloth nick towards top spine, slight joint rubbing and marking to lower back plus very small light spot to front. Despite faults, back cover and spine nick being the worst, an attractive copy of this work by a leading gardening authority of the day.

Tragically the coloured plate opposite p. 63 has been torn horizontally in half and worn on fore and lower margin. Otherwise this would have been a superb copy. Foxing to prelims. & signature on recto of frontispiece.

Very Good. 12mo, pp. vi, 148, six pages of advertising, green cloth with blind stamp and black and gilt lettering and decoration, corners mildly bumped and a few slight indentations to fore edge of front cover, otherwise bright, interior with black end papers, small bookseller's label to fep, some mild foxing to opening pages and occasionally in text, otherwise bright and crisp, eight tissue-guarded colour illustrations, some with very mild light foxing but generally clean, all edges gilt, binding sound.
