Spine ends and corners are a little bumped and rubbed. Gilt, red and brown lettering to spine is a little worn. Contents of book is divided into three sections; Natural History of the Partridge, Shooting the Partridge and Cookery of the Partridge. Sound binding but separation between front end paper and frotis. Previous owners name written on reverse of front end paper. Very occasional very light foxing. No half title page present. Publishers' cream quarter vellum-effect paper, with white cloth boards; gilt titles and ruling to spine. Fore-edge and lower edge uncut. Covers lightly surface soiled, with minor creasing at spine tips and bruised corners. From the library of Craignish Castle, on the West coast of Scotland, with pictorial bookplate to front pastedown. Scattered light foxing, mainly to endpapers and edges. A Very Good copy. Comprehensive study of the natural history, shooting of and cookery of the partridge. Scarce in this edition.
