Revised and enlarged edition (first published 1939 as The Language of Fashion), 8vo, pp. xii, [2], 434; 207 b&w images printed on rectos and versos of 16 plates, and profusely illustrated throughout with line drawings in the text; lightly faded at top extremities, otherwise very good in original lime green cloth and dust jacket with faded spine panel and a few nicks and tears along edges. An essential work for the costume historian.
