Although first published in 1949 this 10th impression is identical to the original, with the Latin sub-title and all Pauline Baynes illustrations. This is a comic medieval fable describing the encounters between Farmer Giles and the wily dragon, Chrysophylax; with other mythical creatures, medieval knights and primitive firearms. Pauline Baynes has delightfully illustrated 'dragon' endpapers, two 3-colour plates and many detailed black & white line drawings, as well as the dustjacket. Very Good Condition. .
