University of South Carolina Press, Columbia, South Carolina, 1969. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Introduction by translator, selected bibliography and index. Green coloured end pages. Black coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. This book was first published in the early part of the 1400s, and, it is the author's treatise on family, social standing, politics, nobility and society in early Renaissance Florence. Softening of the back strip edges along with some fading. Rubbing and a little fraying of the book corners, the underlying board is visible to the lower book corners. Rubbing to the lower book edge and there is some age toning of the text block edges. A previous owner has made the very occasional mark against certain passages of the book, but, there is no underlining or marginalia. Previous owners name to the top edge of the page following the free front end page. First edition of the work in this format and binding, and/or set or series. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
