Bound in black half-cloth over exquisite paste paper covers, printed paper label on spine. A bright, fresh copy with no detracting qualities. Of an edition limited to 125 copies, this is hand-numbered copy #38. Signed by Faye at the colophon. A wordless novel concerning Hebdomeros' inability to grab hold of language. Faye provides a one-page introduction, letterpress, explaining the myth that informed her illustrated narrative. Faye's linocuts are enchanting, combining a 1920s avant-garde aesthetic with an contemporary vibe that's quite electric.

Faux emerald water serpent skin (paper) with paper label on front cover, accordion-style binding. . Small quarto. Five color woodcut illustrations. Illustrated, printed, and bound by the author. The linoleum blocks were printed on a Vandercook 4 and the text was printed on a C&P platen press. The paper used is Rives BFK. Corners slightly rubbed. Signed by the author on the colophon. A fine copy. Jules Remedios Faye (b. 1958) is an American author, editor, letterpress printmaker, bookbinder, teacher, and creator of artists' books. With husband Christopher Stern, now deceased, she established Stern & Faye Printers, a letterpress print shop and hand bookbindery located in Mt Vernon, WA. Faye teaches, curates and participates in bookarts exhibits and events throughout the Skagit Valley and Puget Sound area.
