Frontispiece, maps, black and white and color illustrations, chronology, notes, bibliography, index. The spine is lightly worn at the bottom edge, the dust jacket is sunned along the spine, there is a tiny roughened spot on the front fixed endpaper, and there are two small book stamps on the front endpapers.
