First Edition, Fifth Printing. SIGNED. The last printed page of the book is the About the Author page. At the base of the page is the number sequence which reads 71 72 73 10 9 8 7 6 5. SIGNED and inscribed by William Peter Blatty directly to the title page. Inscription reads: To Will - All the best - William Peter Blatty. Also SIGNED and inscribed by Linda Blair directly to the title page. Inscription reads: To Will - Love + Happiness Linda Blair. DJ is Fine, mylar protected. DJ has 0571 on front flap and a close-up of WPB on rear (earlier printings have a picture of WPB with a coffee mug). $6.95 price has been clipped from the front top flap. Book appears unread as pages lay tight. Burgundy colored boards quarter bound with burgundy cloth binding. Gilt titles on backstrip. Corner tips show minute rubbing. 1 corner is barely, gently pushed. Gold endpapers are clean and bright. A tiny nick on front cover shows white of board beneath. DJ shows minor rubbing along corners on flap folds. This is a very nice signed/inscribed copy.
Synopsis
The Exorcist is a horror novel written by William Peter Blatty. It is based on a 1949 exorcism Blatty heard about while he was a student in the class of 1950 at Georgetown University, a Jesuit and Catholic school. The exorcism was purportedly performed in Mount Rainier, Maryland.
