Hodder & Stoughton, 1934. 1934 reprint. hardcover. xv, 390pp, original black cloth, private bookplate, faint stain to bottom of front board, light foxing to first few pages, VG in Good+ dw with old sellotape marks to corners.. The expedition was the first attempt since the 1924 expedition on which Mallory and Irvine had been killed. In 1933 three climbers, Wager, Wyn Harris and later Smythe, reached 8580 metres. On this expedition an iceaxe was found (now in the Alpine Club) which belonged to Mallory or Irvine.. Glacier Books are experienced and professional booksellers.
