Cover art 'Window Shopping at the Music Store' by Ruth Collins Speers. In collectible condition with a tiny fold front lower corner, very light edge toning to pages and otherwise fine. Folio - over 12" - 15" tall; 73 pages with several period block and full-page advertisements; illustrated throughout with black and white photographs and drawings. Aimed at all musicians, from the novice through the serious student to the professional, The Etude printed articles about both popular and more-involved musical subjects (history, literature, gossip, and politics etc.), write-in advice columns about musical pedagogy, and piano sheet music for all performer ability levels. This issue includes: The Art of Singing by Beniamino Gigi, The Art of Copying Music by Dr. Annie Patterson, an Interview with Menuhin Yehudi, a Master Lesson on the Carnival, Op. 9 of Robert Schumann, Part 2. Musical scores include The March of The Noble by Fredrick Keats, Pierrot by Robert Schumann, Pondering by Cecil Burleigh and A Sleighride Party by Theodora Dutton. The Junior Etude section includes musical puzzles, games and piano pieces such as Silent Night and the Punch and Judy Waltz.
