About This Item
Paris: Draeger Frre, 1935. . 4to, spiral-bound stiff wrappers printed in ochre green tan, etc.; a few pages very lightly foxed Cassandre is perhaps best remembered for the looming majesty of his poster of the S.S. Normandie and the mischievous humor of the Duibonnet advertisements. Nicolas, founded in 1822 really changed the way the French drank wine, it was this house that first sold table wine in bottles rather than casks, making it easier for the average person to drink a glass of wine at home, rather than in a tavern,This wine merchant was very particular in the 1929s and 1930 in the choice of the illustrator used for promotional pieces, in addition to Cassandre, the firm insisted on the services of Van Dongen, Bernard Buffet and Raoul Dufy among others.
