Hardcover. 8vo - 19 x 14 cm.; viii - 267 - (9) pp. Gray (?) cloth over bevel edged boards with gilt lettering on the spine and the front board. The text block head edge is gilt while the fore and tail edges of the text block are untrimmed, all as issued. Stated as the "Third Thousand" on the verso of the title page so presumably a third printing. Four pages of publisher's adverts at the back. Tissue protected black and white frontis piece of "Ceres' Runaway in the Forum". Eight categories of essays with 52 essays in all. Usual library markings and attachments along with a previous owner's name on the front free end paper and that person's "ex libris" bookplate present also. Moderate wear to the spine tips and board corners while the binding cloth is browned (or age-toned if you prefer) on the spine and on the board margins. A clear and removable archival cover has been fitted.; Ex-Library .
