Indianapolis: The Bobb-Merrill Company, Inc, 1953. First edition. Hardcover. 301pp. Octavo [22 cm] 1/4 red cloth with tan paper over boards and a gilt stamped title on the spine. Deckled fore edges. Very good. The spine ends are a bit dinged. There is a very subtle vertical indentation in the spine. With a dust jacket in very good condition. Lightly rubbed and age-toned. There is a 4" closed tear along the fold of the front inside flap, and there are several short closed tears along the top edge. Price-clipped. The third volume of the Notable American Trials series. From the dust jacket- "The way in which justice is done is a fair measure of civilization. Each of these trials has a special significance. Their qualities as sheer entertainment aside, they typify the administration of criminal justice in the United States.
