Dark blue coloured cloth covered boards with self embossed publisher's logo and decoration to the front panel and gilt coloured titles to the backstrip. Dark blue coloured tint to the top text block edge. Plain text dustwrapper with green coloured background with black coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Dark blue coloured faux silk place marker which has some fraying of the edge. "In the nineteenth century the most valuable contributions to the Theory of Poetry came from the poets themselves. Of the seventeen essays in this book ten Are by poets." -- from front fold over panel blurb. The World's Classics series  206. Softening of the back strip edges with rubbing of the book corners. Light age toning of the text block edges and pages. A previous owner has underlined some of the text. Same previous owner has placed their ex libris plate and name it to the top edge of the free front end page. Some foxing to the end pages. Chipping of the dustwrapper corners and back strip edges. Rubbing of the dustwrapper edges, panels and creases. Sunning to the back strip with very light browning to the verso. Some foxing to the fold over panels. Size: 16mo - up to 6 ¾" tall - Sextodecimo.
