London: George Bell & Sons, 1902. Third Edition, Special Reissue . Half Leather - Hardbound. Fair/No Dust Jacket. Complete in twelve volumes, plus supplement. Collated and complete set with 1948 colored plates. All plates are at least in Very Good condition, with the majority being Fine. There are some with slight smudges, small edge stains, and slight waves on edges. There is significant moisture damage to the top covers of Volumes I and IX, also affecting the first 25 leaves of Volume IX and the first ten leaves of Volume I. All text on these damaged leaves remain complete and legible. Volumes III, VII, X, and XI remain solid and about Very Good in condition. The first leaf of preface in the supplement shows a ragged closed tear, though volume is otherwise solid and intact. The contents of the remaining volumes are largely detached, though in place. Due to the weight and size of this 13 volume set, additional charges will apply for Priority and/or International shipping.

Acceptable. . 1863 third and shorter edition, with altered text, some deterioration to the original copper plates causing slight alterations to the images, as well as some uncolored leaf outlines. This edition with plates initialed ""E.B."" Volume 1-6 only, bound in lovely green cloth with decoration in blind and gilt. Covers show minor wear, rubbing, and edgewear. Pages are shaken with scattered foxing. Overall, a set in good condition, with sections shaken loose from the binding but plates all present.

Each vol. with seperate Latin and English plant names as published. 8vo. Hardback. Contents very clean with only very occ. quite minor spotting, a little more so to the text sections of two vols. Contemporary cloth binding, internally very sound, externally showing rubbing and some wear, more so to five of the twelve vols. A magnificent work. "English Botany" is of value even to the present day as a work of reference, and as an illustrated flora of our country it has never been surpassed. (Henrey).
