Cover edges are rubbed with bumped/rubbed corners. Some smudgies from handling. Front and rear hinge are weak making the text somewhat shaky. Nothing is falling apart. Endpapers have foxing with only some foxing throughout. Lots of b/w illustrations. Contents included are the Thames River and its historical buildings; Surrey, Kent and Sussex with its churches and castles; forests and woodlands including Stonehenge; Shakespeare and his area; the country of Bunyan and Cowper; Derbyshire; western England including Cheddar Cliffs and Lidford Cascade and gorge; lakes including Derwentwater and Grasmere; the eastern counties including Snuff Tower and Church of St Nicholas in Yarmouth; industrial centers incluing Kirkstall Abbey and the Roman Wall; the Isle of Wight, Snowdonia and Wales; poetry scattered throughout.
