Jonathan Daniels uncovers the inside story of American history from 1913 and the presidency of Woodrow Wilson to the election of Harry Truman in 1948. A period 'when America grew up and prepared herself for greatness'. Illustrated with a frontispiece black-&-white photograph of his father Josephus Daniels, Secretary of the Navy during WW I, and his young assistant, Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Index appended.
