Black-and-white illustrated frontispiece by Lynne Cherry. Within the text there are numerous double page black-and-white illustrations again by Lynne Cherry. White coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the backstrip.  Illustrated dustwrapper, again by Lynne Cherry, with yellow coloured background with red, black and purple coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. "Summary: a child is educated into the "Parade of Life" and turned teaches his people to work co-operatively with nature and all its aspects of life and death." -- from the verso of the title page.  Bumping and softening to the head and to the heel of the backstrip and shelf wear to the lower book edge. Dustiness to the top text block edge and purple splatter, remainder mark, to the lower text block edge. The top dustwrapper edge has four small tear, three on the front dustwrapper panel and one on the rear panel, the tears of measure from 0.25 " -- 1". There is associated creasing with these tears.. There is a tear that runs down the middle of the backstrip and then arcs are little into the rear dustwrapper panel, measuring 2.5 ", from the top edge. This tear has been inexpertly repaired with tape tape still in situ. Some grubby marks to the dustwrapper panels and there is a 1 .5 " tear to the lower front fold over corner, again with creasing. A small tear to the lower right-hand corner of the rear dustwrapper panel. There is slight fading and rubbing of the dustwrapper panels.  Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. VI, 138 pages. .
