Mr. Rowse was a noted English Shakespearean scholar and also a scholar of the Elizabeth era. --- In linen-finish blue paper-covered boards backed in blue cloth, with gilt-stamped spine titling. Jacket with photographic portait of the author on the back cover. --- With dampstains to rear of volume and verso of jacket, interior is otherwise firm and clean. Unclipped dust jacket with chipping, rubbing and sizeable tears along edges and protected in removable mylar wrapper.; Octavo (8 to 9 in. tall); xiii, 222 pages .
