Hardcover. Condition: VG+/NF. Five volumes. Limited edition. No. 51 of 150 copies printed on Holland paper "all of which are signed and numbered, was printed in the month of May 1884." (2 additional copies printed on Vellum and 20 additional copies printed on Japan paper.) Signed by the printer, Theo. L. DeVinne.
Bound in 3/4s red morocco with marbled boards and matching endpapers. t.e.g. Raised bands. Gilt tooled spine and gilt tooled borders around boards. Binding is tight and square. Some light rubbing/wear to extremities - spine, boards, raised bands, edges, and hinges. Tiny chip to spine crown of Volume 1. Volume has a small smudge to morocco on lower right of front board. Case Western University gift bookplate on inside cover. Another sticker is affixed to the FFEP from "The Graphic Arts Collection in Honor of Mary B. Eilbeck." The sticker can be removed if buyer chooses to do so (similar to a Post-It Note). "Western Reserve Academy" stamp on dedication page, otherwise clean interior. A wonderful and rare set.
