About This Item

Amsterdam, Netherlands: Amsterdamsche Grafische School, 1943. Hardcover without dust jacket, 424 pages including many black-and-white illustrations throughout (and a few in colour);---text in Dutch;---tipped in at the title page is a three-paragraph sheet "aan de abonnes van het Elementair Algrafisch Vakboek", dated "October 1945"; very sadly, I am unable to read this early post-war message; laid in is a simple 8-page unillustrated 1948 price list from "Bredase Reproductie Inrichting: Overzicht van de voornaamste bepalingen van het prijstarief cliché's 1948", with pencilled notes in the handwriting of the previous owner;---covers lightly rubbed, spine slightly slanted and faded, top edge age toned and dust speckled, but book overall very gently used, tight in binding, gilt lettering and decoration on front cover still bright and clear (title only in gilt on spine much more faded), previous owner's professionally designed (by owner, Dutch-Canadian silhouette artist and graphic designer Hans-Detlev Voss who still lived and worked in The Netherlands during the 1930s/1940s) bookplate inside front cover, his tiny ink numeral inside back cover, otherwise very clean and unmarked other than scattered light foxing. text pages surprisingly fresh and white considering the vintage (and what appears to be two different types of paper). See also our listing for Calligrafie - Calligraphie - Calligraphy - Kalligraphie (Arti Picture Encyclopedia, Beeld Encyclopedie, Encyclopédie Par L'image, Bilderenzyklopädie), or check all our listing using Keywords "text in Dutch". . Hard Cover. Very Good.
