A memoir by the author of eight years (1845-1853) spent living in British colonial Ceylon, now Sri Lanka, where he relates the boredom in Colombo, his big game hunting exploits, local wildlife, salt industry, ancient ruins, expat community, etc. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
