Eight original watercolors or 'Field Sketches,' painted by wildlife artist David Hagenbaumer expressly for Bob Wethern. The watercolors were drawn in 1985-6 and all show coastal scenes in western Washington state. Each watercolor measures 3 x 5 inches on 8 x 10 laid paper, with each scene signed and described by David Hagenbaumer. On the reverse of most of the watercolors, Mr. Hagenbaumer and his wife have written long, personal inscriptions to Bob Wethern. For many years Bob Wethern and David Hagenbaumer worked on a multi-volume book tentatively titled The Waterfowler's Pacific Flyway. Bob Wethern wrote the text and David Hagenbaumer painted the illustrations. The book eventually expanded to include 6 or 7 volumes of text but was not published, likely because of its immense size. Also included with the watercolors are photos of the two men together, greeting cards, commissioned wine labels, etc. The material is kept in an album. A rare offering of material featuring the artistic talents of Mr. David Hagenbaumer. All the material is in fine condition. .
