About This Item
New York: Frederick A. Stokes, 1910. Green cloth hardcover without dust jacket, very bright and clear gilt lettering and decoration on front cover, somewhat faded gilt lettering on spine, 293 pages, plus black-and-white illustrations; very gently used, tight in binding, hardly a trace of shelf wear other than gentle bumps to spine ends, but a previous owner has glued numerous related newspaper articles on both front endpapers and four other non-text pages, interior otherwise very clean and unmarked, pages surprisingly fresh and white, no foxing. For more on Egypt, see also our listings for Elbert E. Farman's Along the Nile: An Account of the Visit to Egypt of General Ulysses S. Grant and his Tour Through that Country, and for James Breasted's own classic A History of Egypt: From the Earliest Times to the Persian Conquest, and this, just in, Brian Fagan's Egypt of the Pharaohs [Journey Through an Ancient Land].. First American Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good.
