New York: The MacMillan Co, 1948. First Edition. Octavo. 222pp. Translated by C.T. Campion. On the Edge of the Primeval Forest was first published in 1922. It was then published in the US in 1931 as The Forest Hospital at Lambarene. This edition is both stories combined. The books written by Schweitzer, including J,S. Bach were published and profits were used to build his hospital at Lambarene. Illustrated with 35 photographs and maps. Bound in green cloth, spine lettering gilt, upper corners lightly bumped, near fine in unclipped very good dust jacket showing some light edge wear.
