This copy was used by the American publisher to edit their own edition a year later, and has pen marking on the title and half title pages, as well as a bookplate attached to the title page. Octavo, 8 7/8" tall, 294 pages; brown boards. A very good, generally clean, neat hard cover first British edition with minor shelf wear and rubbing at the corners; hinges and binding tight, spine slightly canted paper cream white and just lightly yellowed at the fore-edge margins. In a good, edge worn dust jacket, with light surface soiling,some chipping at the folds, and with original price present.
