Bound handsomely in black cloth, and with sharp and distinct lettering to spine. Bright and shiny dust jacket, illustrated, showing only very minor wear, not price-clipped. From the publisher's blurb, "Tilework is the most spectacular architectural manifestation of Islamic Iran. In Early Persian Tilework, Douglas Pickett examines the growth to maturity of Persian tilework and mosaic faience, generally termed kashi, from its appearance about 1600 A.D. to the invasion of Tamerlane about 1390 A.D. . . Chapter 1 of Early Persian Tilework begins with a description of the subject and its precursors. Chapter 2 presents a typology of kashi variets in Iran and the adjacent areas from the period down to the Mongol invasion of 1220."
