Size: 4to. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. Dark blue gilt stamped cloth over boards, illustrated paper label laid in on front cover, a full-page half title replica of the cover label, illustrated title page, 50 photographs with captioned tissues of old houses and original illustrations (11 Tail Pieces) by C. G. Moller, Jr., viii, 243 pages, Index, each of the ten parts has a separate title page with a notation on verso "Edition 300 Copies – 25 Japan Paper". Corners and spine ends bumped, head of spine chipped, back cover scuffed, spine faded and soiled, label on front cover lightly soiled, faint foxing on the page following the photographs, tissues toned. Among the houses featured are St. Phillips Church, site of Captain Kidd's house, Merchant's Exchange, First Tammany Hall, residence of General Winfield Scott, The Golden Eagle Inn, Belmont Mansion, house in which President James Monroe died, Fraunce's Tavern, Metropolitan Hotel, Hebrew synagogue, last dwelling house on Union Square, Friends Meeting House and school, Union Theological Seminary and many more.
