Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound - no cracking. Pages and edges are clean; no previous owner names or marks. Signed on the title page by the author: "E. R. Eastman" in blue ink. 280 pages. Dust jacket has slight edge wear and a few very short closed edge tears, no chips; hint of faint soiling to rear panel; photo and bio of author on rear panel. Enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. An historical novel. An interesting and moving tale of human drama, historically accurate in its description of how people lived during the American civil war period..
