SENDAK, MAURICE. SENDAK,MAURICE. DRAWING AND NOTES. Offered here is a little group of Sendak material belonging to his long time framer Sidney Lipschutz. (A) DRAWING ON PERSONAL STATIONERY WITH HAND WRITTEN NOTE. On the top and bottom of the page he wrote: March 29, '71 Sendak wrote; "Dear Sidney, Love to Barbara - Maurice". In the center of the page is a charming ink drawing of a naked little boy holding up an empty picture frame so that it appears as if his head is framed. There's a large bottle standing on the side. Overhead, written within a speech balloon: "Sidney, you're a terrific framer - So thanks." (B) HANDWRITTEN LETTER ON PERSONAL STATIONERY WITH ENVELOPE. "Dear Sidney, Do forgive: the last months have been overwhelming - emotionally, financially & every other way. But - still no excuse for keeping you waiting. I am sorry. I hope Clive has the Homer & Picasso - when I see him, I'll see them. There are lots more pics to frame but they will wait - alas. Do let me hear from you soon & all love to Barbara.
