The author was a famous drama critic and here presents his views of some Shakespeare Productions 1914-1930, Continental Plays 1913-1929, Stage Society Productions 1914-1929, Satires and Comedies 1923-1934, Historical Plays 1913-1934, Detective Drama 1917-1930, Morality Plays 1917-1934 also the films Charlie's Cane (The Pilgrim) 1923 and The Arabian Nights (The Thief of Bagdad) 1924. Slight lean to spine, gilt faded, extremities bruised and bumped, splits to head of spine, faint blotching to upper board, scoring to bottom board. Good+ Sir Desmond MacCarthy (1877-1952) was a literary reviewer, drama critic and magazine editor, and member of the Bloomsbury group (his wife, Molly, is thought to have coined the term).
