About This Item
Williamstown, Massachusetts: Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute / Yale, 2009. Hardcover. VG+ (almost as new but with very faint rubbing to covers). Color-pictorial boards; 156 pp. with 60 color plates and 79 additional figures in color and bw. Catalogue from the exhibition of works by Arthur Dove and Georgia O'Keeffe. In 1913, a pastel by Dove was the inspiration for O'Keeffe's introduction to modernism. Conversely, after 1930, Dove turned to O'Keeffe's early works for renewed aethestic inspiration. The study is set within a larger context of modernism in America.
