Barrie & Jenkins / Royal Doulton, London, 1980. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Very Good Condition/Good. Illustrator: Photographic. Foreword by author, two appendices and index. Gold coloured end pages. The text is illustrated with black-and-white photographs and a section of coloured photographs between pages 56 and 57. Black coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Colour photographic dustwrapper with gold and white coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. A history of the Burslem Wares manufactured by the Doulton company, from its early earthenware products through to plates and figurines that were the only English porcelain company to seriously compete against European rivals. Softening of the back strip edges and rubbing of the book corners. Age toning of the text block edges. Creasing of the lower dustwrapper edge and there is a small closed tear to the top edge of the front panel. Rubbing of the panels with some stains to the verso of the dustwrapper.
