Np/1949: The Bibliophiles De Provence. Limited Edition. Octavo. Limited to 158 copies. This book, the twelfth work of the bibliphiles of Provence, was prepared by the care of Mr. Jules Amaudric of the Chaffaut and members of the committee, Monsieur A. Novella being president. Colophon: J'ai fini d'imprimer ce livre sur mes presses à Paris le jour du bougeoir en 1949 à 158 exemplaires sur vélin arches nus merots de 1 à 158. En outre, 25 exemplaires réservés à lardiest. The present copy for Madame Pierre Moetteis is number 85. The illustrator, Jacques Boullaire illustrated for such authors as Theophile Gautier, Marcel Proust and others. I addition to the copper engravings, there are laid in three additional preliminary drawings in pencil and signed by the artist. One is of the frontispiece, the second is of the plate on page 9, the 3rd on page 85 and the last is on page 125. All leaves loosely laid into printed paper wraps with browning and held within a paper covered chemise with a bit of dampstaining, slipcase is lacking. Internally clean and bright. A very nice copy.
