Bifolium measuring 11 1/2" x 8 1/2" on appointment of Rudolf Brinkmann, Secretary of State in the Third Reich, to the German trade commission "Adlolf Hitler-Spende fur das deutsche Handwerk" honoring the workers. Signed by Adolf Hitler and countersigned by Dr. Hans Heinrich Lammers (1879-1962) who was State Secretary and later Minister and head of the Chancellery. Historian Martin Kitchen explains that due to the centralization of power accorded to the Reich Chancellery, Lammers became one of the most important men in Nazi Germany. A week before Hitler committed suicide, he had ordered Lammers be executed for high treason but Soviet troop entered Berlin and World War II ended before the order could be carried out. Lammers was tried by the Allies and given a twenty year sentence but he provided many valuable insights into the Nazi hierarchy and was released in two years. The document has the large blind-embossed German eagle seal with bold fountain pen signatures.
