Half bound in crushed red morocco and rose colored cloth over boards, lettered in gilt to spine; spine with five raised bands, top edge gilt. Book Condition: chipping and abrading along edges, tips showing peek at boards underlying in spots, outer joint of upper cover rubbed and a little tender; textblock unmarred and likely unread. "Notes" and "Illustrations" to each canto, though the term "illustrations" is being used in a manner we aren't familiar with; that is to be clear that there are no in-text illustrations, plates, maps, facsimiles or any graphic reproductions of any kind. No date or edition specified but the copyright page records the 1913 copyright of Earnest Longfellow. All that said, a reasonably handsome, very sound copy containing the entirety of Longfellow's translation of "The Divine Comedy" in one, very user friendly package. Translated by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
