The Dionne quintuplets - Marie, Cecile, Emilie, Yvonne and Annette - were removed from their parents by the Canadian government after their birth and made wards of the Ontario government (they were returned to their parents in 1943.) This book emphasizes how healthy they are and how well they are developing in the protective environment set up for them (complete with a viewing area for visitors). Full of photographs of the undeniably cute girls, mostly at play. Square format soft cover.

Presumed first ed.; 113 p., clean and unmarked within, but with name of former owner on upper margin of smudged t.p. and crayon numbers and circles around certain words in the "Note to Parent or Teacher;" smudges on back paste down. Many charming photos of the Dionne quintuplets accompanied by text intended to teach a beginning reader new words; binding firm; in absence of d.j. the photographic boards are faded, the corners bumped and the crown and foot of the spine are abraded.
