Hardcover no dust jacket. Publishers binding of pictorial paper covered boards with cloth spine in good condition with some wear to edges of boards and top & tail of spine with some rubbing to boards. Inside hinges starting to crack but binding holding nicely, all pages, but for the odd finger mark in very good clean condition.

Large oblong 4to (11 1/2 x 9"), cloth backed pictorial boards, light edge wear, one corner bumped, small neat mend on verso of free endpaper, clean and near Fine. Printed on good quality paper, each page of text in rhyme faces a full page color lithograph featuring jointed stick dolls, humanized pigs, a cat and a few humans. There are 24 color plates plus pen and ink drawings on text pages. The text consists of simple, humorous little poems. Well printed, this has the look and feel of an Edmund Evans production (but it isn't). Baumer was a note British caricaturist who worked for Punch for more that 50 years. This a great copy of a wonderful picture book so typical of the turn of the last century in England.
