New York: Charles Scibner's Sons, 1914. First edition. Hardcover. Cloth backed printed portfolio with six intact linen ties. Very good. Francis Hopkinson Smith. 8 text pages. Folio, 51 x 41 cm. Twenty leaves of loose photogravure proofs, each matted with tissue guards and printed descriptive label tipped to each verso. Limited edition, copy 92 of 150 signed on limitation page by Smith and the publisher. "Coffee Room, George Room" plate additionally signed in pencil by Smith. Francis Hopkinson Smith was a United States author, artist and engineer, as well as the descendant of a signer of the Declaration of Independence. He built the foundation for the Statue of Liberty, the Race Rock Lighthouse (southwest of Fishers Island, New York. Plates crisp and bright, uneven toning to matting of half title, linen slightly split along joints of portfolio.
