This special limited edition has been transcribed, edited and indexed by Miss Dorothy C. Barck. His original diary was kept in 30 small volumes but of the eleven that have been located, they are included here revealing the remarkable man who knew and appreciated Charles Brockden Brown's Arthur Mervyn and had read Mary Wollstonecraft's Vindication of the Rights of Woman with appreciation (Vol. I, 72, 80). A handsome set bound in red cloth, paper spine labels lettered in black, black coated endpapers, top edges gilt, no names or bookplates.
